2008 Iveco Daily 50C18 LWB 3L T/D with a Winnebago motorhome on the back & towing a 99 Suzuki Grand Vitara 5 door 4x4.

Wanting to put an exhaust brake system on for better control down some of our mountain ranges here in Australia.

Is it possible with this engine?

Morning all,

To put an exhaust brake on a 5 tonne vehicle might not be wothwhile with a small engine.

G'day sport, good idea I use mine on my truck all the time and should still have some effect on a smaller engine and reduce the need to ride the brakes on long decents.
As far as I am aware you will also need to shut the fuel off somehow when you use the exhaust brake.
Have you thought of trying a Telma unit They are heavy though. http://www.atecoequipment.com.au/default.asp?action=article&ID=128 only any good if you have a propshaft.
