I'm shortly taking my 'van to my local Ford dealer having received a recall notice. I post this just in case any members have bought second-hand and may not be on the database.

'Recall No. OS318 Transit 2.2 diesel- Intercooler to Turbo intake hose.

Some Transit 2.2 diesel vehicles have had an issue with the intercooler to turbo intake hose becoming detached at the resonator, causing lack of engine power.

To prevent this potential detachment, a modified design resonator kit has been developed.'

The letter goes on to say that this is work that needs to be done urgently, but I suppose that they'll always say that to cover themselves.

Just to add a rider. My 'van was booked in at 1.30 p.m. at the local Ford dealer and we had it there for 1.20 p.m.

The recall job was done whilst we waited and at 2.00 p.m. it was ready.

Yes, purchased new six months ago. However, the recall only mentions the engine and not a model number.

I'm not sure as I'm no expert but is there a chance that the same engine is in the earlier model?
