Confused

Waeco rear view camera with intermittent fault (or am I just missing something obvious?
Fitted myself two years ago and has been trouble free until last few weeks. Just switched on and got only blue screen. Had this a few weeks back but it seemed to clear itself after a few miles. Am I missing something or is there a fault developing? The monitor is an M511L.

Loose plug, dicky connection somewhere. Get someone to watch the monitor while you go round and waggle each connector in turn.

Agree with above, I had intermittant fault leaving blue screen but image returned after a journey in the van. I remade the earth connection to the camera which solved the issue. I vaguely remember an error message similar to "no video input" in this case?

I Have had this resently, I put a video feed from a dvd player to the screen to check that was working.
As I had a good picture from the dvd I turned to the camera which would some times work.
I checked the conections all were good so replaced the camera and now have a good picture, better than the old camera.

This is probably a daft suggestion but it's worth a try. My Waeco monitor has multiple (2?) input channels. If the wrong one is selected, blank screen. Try pressing the buttons on the front of the monitor...

My WAECO system has played up very intermittently for some time.

There seems to be no pattern to it going faulty and displaying a blue screen.

It generally starts doing it on the long-distance view and can be cleared for a while by switching to the fish-eye view and then back.

Eventually, although not always, it affects the fish-eye view as well.

It never goes faulty at a time when I can investigate the problem - doing 100kmH down an Autoroute is not convenient!

My own suspicion is that the electronic switch inside the monitor is to blame, as yet no proof.

Cool
Thanks for all ideas. Glad I'm not alone. Left home with blue screen and SHMBO had the bright idea of using the remote zapper which cleared problem. Will investigate my connections when get back and let you know how get on. For the moment I'm driving with a clever dick! (no comments please)
