Hello All,

This is my first post and realize that the topic may have been covered before. We are newbies from Ireland and are thinking of buying a MH but would like to hire possibly in the UK for a couple of weeks. Doesn't matter what time of year or where and we're wondering about where the best companies/prices/deals are.

Thanks in advance.

Depends what size you want. When you want to go and how many bods you have with you. If you google motorhome hire there are loads that come up.

If you do intend hiring before you buy then have a look round at what you want to buy and try and hire a similar if not same model.

For example:

Lowdhams (no allegiance whatsoever - just using them as an example) will knock the cost of hiring off what you buy.

Think JohnsCross Motorhomes does something similar.

I think hiring before you buy is best way forward as quite often your first buy is not your best buy.

You will also find out if you suffer from claustrophobia, don't actually like camping albeit in style and that you may not get the full use out of it if you were to buy and therefore should hire throughout the year.

Any further questions you might be wise to invest your £10 or equivalent Euroines and then you can do a full search of this site.

Hope that helps

Hi Quinn, I'm not sure if or why you want to hire only in England, but if you want to hire in Ireland ring Michael at Anchorpoint Motorhomes. The Number is 061 379903. And for a lot less than 500 quid a week!!
By the way I have no affiliation with this company.............Hobey

We wanted to try a Motorhome this year before buying and have hired from two companies reasonably close to us.
The first time, a Carioca, we had five days in Northumberland and the second time, a Burstner, we spent a fortnight in France.
It's certainly whet our appetite for motorhoming and we're going again to France over New Year.
Both companies are within a few miles of East Midlands Airport and they charge less than £500 per week off season.
The companies are Derby Motorhomes and Xplore-it and both have websites.

Hi,

If you want to put the 500 to 600 quid week I am seeing in this tread into perspective check out the cost of renting an American, I have just been looking a Stingray RV’s website as they rent American RV’s, how about between 2500 and 5000 quid for a weekend!!!
