Has anyone a recent experience of hiring a Motorhome in France?

We hired in June last year from a private company called Nature et Soleil who are based near Beziers - they brought the van to the airport and collected it again afterwards.

They didn't speak English and my French is pretty average but we managed OK. Everything was fine - big deposit to pay by leaving a cheque with them. In fact I think there were two separate ones of 500 and 2000 euro. Hire cost was reasonable but can't remember exactly what it was.

Most places I looked at before hiring had additional mileage charges for going over a fixed number of kilometres so I would suggest checking carefully what is included and how far you intend to travel.

Until we retired and bought our van 2 years ago we hired from both Avis Caraway and McRent in France. Both were OK. We used to find the cheapest places to hire in Europe were Germany and Portugal, both significantly cheaper than France (or the UK which was the most expensive)

Thanks for the replies.
I was hoping to get some idea on hiring prices if possible.

Hi Keith

Both the companies I mention have web sites with price lists on.
