Hi, and sorry for more reversing camera questions. I have trawled the 3 pages on the forum but no one seems to have the same problem so hope you guys might be able to help.
Weird one. We have lost our sound.
We had a Senon MON300 5" Colour LCD and Camera fitted by the dealers a few weeks ago. Not sure if it's a good one as it's our first Motorhome experience. No one mentions it on the forum!
The LCD shows an Okay image, not great in poor light but very handy to have had a speaker for the poor Hubby standing behind to tell me when to stop!
We took the van out for the day to the dealers for some Loo work and a leak to be sorted. Camera speaker working fine then. When we got home later that day and I went to reverse back on the drive there was a picture but no sound. Volume is up to full on screen and we don't seem to have any other controls to get excited about.
No Manual, I've done a web search but not found one.
Could it be the extreme cold or damp etc. Camera looks good inside.
Checked that the cable is secure on the monitor. There is a reset button but I have not dared to press that yet.
The dealers are away now until after Xmas. I should really be stuffing the turkey now but this is bugging me as we hope weather permitting to head up to the Outlaws between Xmas and New year and have a very tight drive to park on up there.
Any thoughts will be gratefully received, I think! Happy Festives everyone.
Jks

We had the system fitted back in March (Waeco twin lens camera with 5" monitor) and recently lost first the sound and then the monitor died completely. The monitor has been replaced under warranty and the pictures are fine but we still have no sound.
The dealer suggests that it may simply be ice blocking the microphone on the camera so suggests we check that first. The MH is in storage at the moment as we cancelled our Christmas trip to Europe so we will have a close look when we next get it out.
Oh dear. Looks like the weather is beating a few of us!
Glad I'm not alone with this fault. Thought I was mad! What a pain for us though. You'd think exterior cameras would have a bit more ability to cope with a few - degrees than those where suffering in the south here. Pant's I'd say.
Maybe if I get the hair dryer out and see if that has an effect. Certainly get the neighbours wondering!
Thanks for your thoughts.

Ours is the Waeco camera. It usually works fine but on two occasions over the last two years we have lost sound. On inspection it seems that the microphone is a VERY small hole which blocks easily with a droplet or two of water in bad conditions. Each time this happened normal service was resumed when the weather dried up.
If it does not work when the weather dries up, try a hairdryer, if that fails you probably have a faulty unit.
We have had the same problem on ours too. It is ice blocking the tiny hole to the mike. Go easy on the hairdryer though - too hot and you fry the electronics in the camera.

PS - now I just wind the drivers door window down and SWMBO shouts her instructions.
