I'm struggling to find a portable TV (22-26" flatcreen should be light enough to move around easily) that has a built-in tuner capable of delivering an HD picture to the full HD screen that IS included!
A built-in DVD player would be nice. I'd prefer Freesat over Freeview but would consider the latter.
I don't know why it is so difficult. Are we supposed to buy a minimum 32" screen for every room in which one might want to watch something?
Tesco have a good range to buy instore or online, their Technika range are excellent value for money and very well received. I've just bought this one and cannot fault it:-
Thanks. Unfortunately neither of those have full HD (1080p) screens, but that isn't my problem. I can get those but can't get the HD tuner, which those also don't have
Dave,
You are a little ahead of the market. There will be plenty of Freeview HD small screen TVs available at model change in Spring 2011. freesat models will always be rarer and will carry a price premium as they still have to ship with a terrestrial receiver as well.
The biggest problem with Freeview HD is still the fact that only 50% of the country can receive the HD signal. Unfortunately, the great british public will buy the product and then blame the retailer because there is no transmission in their area. The number of people who check before purchase is still very low.
As for 1080p, the simple question is why? There is no benefit from 1080p on a screen size smaller that 26" as the pixels are then too small for the human eye to notice.
Gerry
Thanks. As to the former, that is what I was beginning to glean
I think I'd dispute the latter. Viewing distance is, of course, key. Just as I wouldn't forego the 1920 horizontal pixels in my smaller than 26" PC monitor, I'd like to watch a 26" HD TV just over a metre in front of me when I'm on the treadmill. But I wouldn't buy a decent TV just for that, so want to take it around the house where I have satellite and terrestrial TV signals piped to various rooms.
