Anyone had any experience of these 4x4's?

Has the UK Arm gone bust and been re-born?

Had a SSangyong Musso 4x4 before coming to live in Spain, heard later that Main Distributor, Kia had lost franchise and that the manufacturer subsequently sold out To Daewoo. Still see the brand on sale here in Malaga.

Edit: Some info here

Based on the old,old Merc ML. Older merc engine so thats the good news, build quality not in merc class, but then not merc prices do not hold values to well. Cheap, should be reliable 4x4. Smile

Well partly what appeals is the Merc underpinnings. I had the old ML for a weekend once, was a GT Elephant. Ended up with an X5.

Have seen a van / commercial version I am thinking of buying, brand new.

Just wondered what real owners verdicts were. Looked on caravanfacts but not a lot there.

Top Gear gave it 8/20. HERE

Honest John is a good website for owners views. HERE

They will of course be thin on the ground, as are the actual vehicles.

We had two on contract hire at work, drove one of them a bit including a Scotland trip, after the BM your going to be very upset if you buy one. Not in the same ball park. We looked at an X5 which I have always fancied (12 BM's now) and bought the X3 though, as we needed more room in the back for the Dogs, found it hard to believe the X3 is bigger in the back than the X5 Confused . To sum it up DONT DO IT Smile

Aye, and if you expand the link to read more it gets worse Very Happy

In all honesty I treat anything Top Gear does as comedy these days, honest john carries more weight fior me, though I suspect the news will still not be good regarding spares availability and depreciation on new.

All depends how cheap you can get it I guess, and what use you put it to.

I dont believe any motoring reports they are all bias, I remember we had a Frontera on demo one time, and I used it for a day or to, It was not great but not as bad as the motoring press would have you believe. You gets what you pay for dont you Sad

I used one for a while (the Daewoo version) after I had retired while working for Daewoo part time as a fun job. The engine is a Merc (2.7cc from memory) and its an absolute dog. It was completely powerless and the road holding was appalling. Fuel consumption was equally poor.

Personally I would not waste my money as it was the worst vehicle I have ever driven. The depreciation is huge. Top Gear were generous with their rating.
