5th gear Trouble
Message:
Hi, I Have just had to replace the 5th gear on my 2002 Autosleeper Pollensa which I aquired on the 30/07/2010 with 27,000 Mls, on the clock. The milage had just reached 36,000 when it started jumping out of fifth gear without any warning.I have since learned this is a problem with this model as the 5th gear assembly was an add on.
I was very dissapointed as having driven conversions for years without any problems this was my first coachbuilt and I had not
given enough thought to the base vehicle.Has anyone else had this problem and can I expect to replace 5th gear in another 36,000 Mls.

It's certainly a well documented problem but fortunately because fifth gear is an add-on as you say it is a relatively cheap and easy fix to replace. As to whether it will re-occur I cannot answer that but keep putting a few pennies in the piggy bank ready for the 72,000 milestone Laughing Laughing
