Diesel In The Alps In Winter
Message:
It is not true that all the diesel sold in the alps is designed for the winter. Most diesel is the same as here which goes down to minus 15, but if you check at some garages you can get diesel that is good for going down to minus 20.
We were caught out this winter ( minus 22.5.) It was 24 hours before we got the engine running as diesel waxed up.
When we got back to the valley a lot of the garages had notices up regarding the above.

Never mind the Alps - our neighbour at Gruissan in early Feb had his diesel wax up and Gruissan is on the Med coast. It was cold and very windy though.....
Biggest problem was lack of water - not a single water point in the whole area was open. Even the two campsites didn't have water. Had to rely on help from Fire Brigade.
