1989 Gearbox

evening all, got a few questions regarding my 1989 hymer, trying to source a replacement gearbox for it as 5th gear has given up but not entirely sure what gearbox i need, what chassis is the van based on? 1989 544, also does anyone know the gearbox code? from what i have read it is a m5 but someone from a transmission company thinks its a be3, its on a 2.5 non turbo diesel engine, lastly, anywhere i can pick up a replacement box?

I thought that 5th gear was an easy repair and not a gearbox replacement job,

from what i have read it can be fixed but i dont know where to find a fifth gear, phoned peugeot and they cant get a hold of one, dont know where else i could get one from
