Help! Mercedes garage damaged my van!
Message:
Picked up my van from local Mercedes garage yesterday after service and MOT. Van had been washed, nice surprise. I didn't notice any problems at the garage as Van was parked between other vehicles and it was overcast, also didn't have cause to check body of van.
Half way home, came out of supermarket approaching van from front for first time.....
Shock horror ....... The grey panel between windscreen and bonnet is all blotchy as if been sprayed with something harsh. On closer inspection the plastic parts like toilet locker door are all dotted with bleached marks, the metal trim on lockers is marked and plastic grey trim all around skirt is badly marked, below hab door the plastic has even bubbled!

Phoned Garage and spoke to guy in charge of workshop
' very surprised, we only use soap and water'
He said to bring it in which I am going to do today, my fear is what can I do if they say 'didn't happen here'? It most definitely did, have never sprayed anything on the van and you can see where the odd streak that's obviously from this recent clean corresponds with damage on trim.

Any advice would be much appreciated, am off to the garage now and hopefully they will put it right, but I am worried and upset, my Hymer is my pride and joy, she might be 10 years old but she's not a 'banger'

Have taken some photos, can't upload them here with my iPad, but if a kind soul with more technical ability than myself could help me do that via email that would be great. My husband can do it on his computer but he's away at work till next week.
Thanks in advance for any advice
Kathy

Give them the chance first off to accept responsibility for what has happened. Be nice about it and explain what you have said to us. By being nice you can always "ramp it up" if need be. If start of stroppy you will put their backs up and human nature says they will then dig their heels in!!!

If that doesnt work I would tell the garage that my intention would be to speak with my insurance company, tell them (ins co) exactly what has happened and say you are thinking of making a claim for the damage.
