Fiamma Carry-Bike Pro - watch out for this little defect...
Message:
Well okay, let me lay it on the line - I'm no strongman.

So when I started tightening up the arm to secure the second bike on our new bike rack - and the blighter just snapped straight off - I knew there was something amiss.

Fortunately spare parts don't seem to be that costly for this make, but a warning; don't go thinking these products can take as much pounding as a Thule.

I've recently fitted this model bike rack , and although its still in one piece , I do have reservations about the longer of the 2 arms. Despite my strongman efforts the outer bike just doesn't seem secure , the arm seems to waggle about a bit too much

I resorted to also using some bungees it an attempt to firm it up a bit off the inner bike.

I have carried four bikes on one of these racks for the last five years, never lost one yet!! I do put a safety cable through all the bikes and round the ladder, just in case.
The biggest problem I find is the red plastic parts discolour very quickly, and the rack looks rather tatty. A spray of WD 40 brings the colour back for a while, but it doesn't last.
The catches on the rim attachments rust as well, so it is best to give them a coat of waxoyl to make them last.
Happy cycling!!
