Help needed.
We have been motorhoming for 3 years, but have not been overseas yet.
I am, however familiar with driving on the continent.
We are pretty reasonable skiiers, and want to take our Adria Ducato conversion to a resort (probably France, but open to ideas) over the Christmas period.
What we are looking for is a really good couple of Aires in resorts close to lifts, ski shops and (important!!) bars.
Any advice you can give us will be most welcome.
Thanks
Roger & Rose

Hi, I too am think of doing the same thing in my van as I am a keen ( but novice ) snowboarder, thinking to getting the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilboa Northern Spain and driving to Andorra for a quick break around Xmas.

My friend is a very experenced skier/snowboarder and has driven off the ferry from Dover ( I think ), the nearest resort he went to took him 9 hrs in his car from getting off the ferry so you could add a couple of hours on to that for a MH, though he did say the roads are very easy to drive on with mostly motorway and not much traffic. Hope this is of some benefit to you, sorry the details are a bit sketchy as it was just a causal conversation I had with him a a pub one night a couple of months ago. Embarassed

Hmmm........... hadn't considered Andorra - we had a great trip there a few years back to Soldeau and El Tartar, really cheap Apres Ski, and good intermediate runs.
Problem is that I think the ferry cost may be extortianate.
I looked at going across from Plymouth to Santander earlier on this year, and it was about £14000 (from memory).
Must do some research on Portsmouth to Bilbao.
I have driven from Dover to LaPlagne a few years ago, and it seemed an easy 10 hour drive. Didn't see what it was like for MHs though!.
Thanks for the reply.
