The original post is 2 years old, but I have a query.
2005 Sprinter 416. 30,000 miles. Brake fluid changed last year.
I had the MH MoT'd last week. Prior to taking it, the wheels were taken off and the discs cleaned up.
I have just done 700 miles in 2 days, the discs look like they have not been cleaned since new, and the last 100 miles the brakes were terrible. I am used to the long pedal but this seems different. The discs look as if the pads should be a lot bigger.
I assume that the garage at home would have picked up worn discs.
I am in France for the next few months. If I have to go to a garage I would like to go armed with an idea of what the problem ( if there is one) could be.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds like the pistons in the callipers are sticking a bit and the pads are not being pushed squarely against the disc, either that or the pads are sticking in the calliper.
My brake pedal still goes nearly to the floor and I have also got into the habit of pumping the brake pedal gently at the start of every "stopping event"
My MH has had a couple of MOT's since I started this post without problem so its clearly normal (I still think its less than ideal though)
