We have a 2007 Laika with 2 x Spanish Propane bottles with Regulator etc which (I) assume is 30mb. We want to change one to a refillable lpg. Anyone know if we can do this ourselves quite easily, what we need and where on earth in Spain/Internet I can get the stuff supplied. We NEVER come back to UK.

Sorry, I know this topic is done to death but I can't find the above info on this site.

THNX

Not a chance i would think.
There are only 2 places you can refill a L.P.G bottle in Valencia
1 in the centre of Valencia
2 between Elche and alicante.

Not sure about your area though.
we have 1 spanish ali bottle and 1 Gaslow, but i bought the gaslow in the UK when i was there 2 years ago.

thnx Hogan - I think its a long shot too! Am trying to persuade our dealer in Elche to do something - other than that we could go to France. We don't need to refill in Spain it is for "the rest of the world" travel.

I have heard the one between Elche and Alicante has gone!

Why don't you fit a large (maybe 100 litre) bulk gas tank? That way you'll only need to fill it once a year or so.

If you lend someone £20 and never see that person again, it was probably well worth it. Wink

hi i made an adaptor to fit my gas bottle .so that i can fill my gas bottles at the garage pumps. i have the adaptors to fit from the different pump fittings. there is a calculation that you need to learn to fill them to the corect level. i have used this for about 8 yrs now .

Having looked on several Spanish forums and done a Google search I don't think you'll get very far sourcing refillable bottles here in Spain. You've probably done the same and come to the same conclusion. Unless you can persuade your local dealer to stock them as you say, but in view of the dearth of refilling stations and the lack of price advantage for bulk gas, I suspect there will be little demand from Spanish MHers.

FWIW, all the Spanish forum posters who have refillable bottles have bought them in France, Germany or Belgium and have indicated possible problems with ITV inspections. This latter of course is relevant only if you have a Spanish reg MH.

I hope this may help clarify your thinking.

Mike

Did nt consider bulk tank. Thought from reading on the forum Gaslow refillable seemed the way to go.

Don't think I could make an adaptor to refill my Spanish bottles either!

Thnx for input.

Am trying to relocate lpg (gpl) bottle fitter in France now!

Mike - Interesting point about ITV - we are Spanish registered. I suppose another idea is camping gaz adaptor for emergency use?
