What a right old job Chris. Is it factory fitted air suspension, or an after market fit? I hope you manage to get it all sorted okay.

Hi Jock,

It is standard fit on the high end Disco's and Range Rovers. Allows you to raise for off roading, lower for loading and self levelling. Great for trips to France with a few hundred bottles of wine and more bottles of beer!

Once you get your head around it, it is fairly straightforward in terms of the mechanics. But like all these things it has a few foibles and can be difficult to find out what has gone wrong. Having a good forum to turn to is of course paramount!

Typically with dissimilar metals the corrosion has caused a few things to be eaten away including some of the more crucial bolts. Why the heck do manufacturers do this?

Regards

Chris

We could have done a swap, ie, some of your Cheese & Onion Pie for some of my Bolognese. Laughing

Sorry Sandra, shop bought at 25p a packet.
I have to admit, I've never considered making pasta. Confused

Chris, I have used air suspension systems on tractor units and trailers, for loading/unloading, hitching/unhitching, and on coaches in the form of a ferry lift, etc. I've even used it to clear a low bridge once. Shocked
Once used to them, they soon become indispensable. I wish I had one on the MH.

Take it easy Margaret.

It is heaving it down now over here, and the water butt and bird bath are full again. Smile

Cheers,

Jock.

Glad to hear that you are home again Doreen, and hopefully when the anaesthetic has worn off, you'll perhaps be able to appreciate the effects of the steroid injections.

Every few years, I have to have cortisone injections into the base of the spine, after spinal surgery on L5 S1. Although uncomfortable every time, they keep me going pain free for several years. I consider myself to be so lucky to have not only survived the surgery, but also to have been able to return to normal operational duties, for some years after the surgery.
Life is a bit more sedate , so I am not putting my back through so much abuse now.

Best regards,

Jock & Rita.

Morning all,

Luverly morning, sun's up, it's heating up and all in all it looks like it's going to be a really nice day. Wx offshore is as flat as a pancake.....................only thing is the tides are ripping and my wee boat is standing by. If it's not one thing it's the next.

As everything is more or less done a leisurely day is planned, with a wee private project that actually looks like I am working, should anyone peer over my shoulder. Well as the kettles just boiled it's time for my first caffeine injection of the day.

Have a Guid Yin!!

Morning Bill and those to come

Blooming freezing this morning, literally!

Well Jock, it's an interesting one re any payout. Some places pay you for the whole annual leave entitlement for the year, plus a months pay etc. I was only in my last job for 21 months but managed to walk away with a smile and a tidy sum. Years ago, when I worked at the bank, I was redundant and whilst the payout was more, I had worked there ten years.

Frank - how is Doreen now the anaesthetic has worn off?

Hospital for me later today for "down stairs".

Better get a move on, off to work in a bit and I think I need to scrape the windscreen.

Russell
