Information: |
Small parking area at the far end of the harbour.

Very tight approach roads to the town and you might find that the sat nav tries to take you dowm a track that runs past the amphtheatre ruins, don't be tempted to take the track but follow signs to town centre and port.

We stayed the night in May, I don't think it would be tolerated in main season.

Some great eateries in Archea Epidavros itself.
| |
Attractions Nearby: | Pleasant little town with many tavernas and restaurants. several supermarkets for shopping. Main attraction is the ampitheatre ruins which we personally found a bit disapointing. | |

Typically Greek, it's lovely but confusing, so I should clarify...... The Theatre in the nearby groves is a 'Little Ancient Theatre', used sometimes for smaller events. Keep walking up the hill for a nice walk & include the short side track to the church, overlooking the next bay. The main show though is at the Main Ancient Theatre, about 15km inland. This theatre is very impressive as is the adjacent site, home to early medicine. |

As a free camping spot in April 2011, this place is gorgeous. Spacious, (apart from navigating through the town to the port) and friendly. We parked on the harbour front on an area set aside for parking cars and coaches. Water is available at the end of the quay and there are a dozen or more lovely places to eat or have a beer, at reasonable prices. It is a 15 minute stroll along the beach and through the orange groves up the hill to the Ancient Theatre. We haven't seen it yet, but will get up there tomorrow, as it is free on Sundays. There is plenty of wifi in the village. |
