Southport is a seaside town which caters for everyone from children to grown-ups. The car park which has been used for rallies previously has just re-opened and is situated just off the sea front at the side of the pleasure Beach. You pay on the gate for however many nights you intend to stay. There is entertainment galore. If you fancy going to the Floral Hall Theatre, taking in a movie at the Vue cinema, having a few games of 10 pin bowling, crazy golf, pitch and put or a full 18 holes. Lord Street just a few minutes easy walk is a shoppers paradise with some lovely boutiques and olde worlde arcades. There are bargains to be had at Primart, B & M Bargains and TK Max. Theres also a Morrisons within walking distance of the Rally venue with a petrol station. There are some wonderful eating establishments from good old Fish n' Chips, Mexican, Chinese and Indian restaurants and take-aways, to top notch eateries. If you like cycling there are a number of easy designated cycling routes on the flat. If you fancy a spot of bird watching just down the road are the marshlands which are a haven for all manner of bird life. Southport has a lovely pier if you fancy a romantic stroll last thing at night or if your a proper bloke get your missus to carry your fishing rods and see if you can catch your supper at the end of the Pier when the tide comes in. You are only a stones throw from the beach so take your buckets and spades for the kids. There are wonderful gardens and boating lakes to walk around. All the above are within walking distance and are suited to anyone with walking difficulties If you fancy a trip to Formby Nature Reserve you can go and feed the Red Squirrels. Liverpool and Blackpool are under an hour away, if you fancy a drive out. Rally Marshal's are Whistlinggypsy (Bob) & Mangothemadmonk (Johnny)
