Cruden Bay is one of the great gems of the Aberdeenshire coast. It boasts a beautiful curving beach with a seal colony at its southern end, and a top 100 world class golf links.

It is also the place where Bram Stoker wrote 'Dracula', inspired (so the locals say) by the nearby Slains castle (now a ruin) where Stoker stayed as a guest.

Bridge house is a fairly small CL with electric hook-up and basic washing / toilet facilities. It's about 2 miles from the village, but if you drive, free parking round the harbour area is no problem.
From there, cross the Lady Bridge to the beach or take the path up to Slains castle.

A little to the north there is a small carpark for the castle and just a little further is the spectacular rock formation at the Bullers of Buchan. (free carpark). This was mentioned by Boswell in this account of Dr.Samuel Johnson's tour of Scotland in the 1780's.

This is a place I heartily recommend for a relaxing few days. Not much in the way of shops, but several hotels where you can get a good drink or a meal. Peterhead 8 miles north has a good range of supermarkets and shops.
