Number Of Pitches:50
Information:A large car park for motorhomes just by the entrance channel for the cross chanel ferries, parking is free but there are no facilities. Sit there for hours watching the ferries manoevre in/out of their berths. From the ferry terminal follow signs for 'centreville' then 'plage' and 'parking camping cars'. Regularly patrolled by police so its safe, we've used it for years. EDIT - this is now a proper 'aire' and has been resurfaced and a flot bleu installed. Originally there was a barrier with a silly card access sytem but this has been abandoned and a man comes round every morning to collect the dues, if you leave early enough its a freebie. edit by Bognormike long used as an unofficial parking / overnight stop, this has now been granted official status - barriered off, with proper sized parking bays and a borne with the usual water / electric for 2 euros plus toilet & water dump free. (although the water was not working when we were there (19/9/04). Access on right after the camp site approaching the beach; don't go to the end, turn right by the cafe - entrance at the end. can be noisy from ferries.

Visited here last week, still 7 euro during main season otherwise free, pay at campsite next door. No limit to how long you can stay. Good english speaking vet @ Clinique veternaire, 217 boulevard Lafayette, easy walk or you can park outside.

We stay here from time to time, the aire is ok and very useful for over night parking and we usually arrive around 23:00, just around the corner (in season you can use the site for the toilets and showers and of course park there as they have electric hook ups as well... on a Saturday there's a very good market in Calais only a few minutes walk, so you can get all your provisions for your outward journey... enjoy your MH

Stayed October 2009. Very windy overnight with sand blowing off the beach. Toilets now closed for winter. 7 euros per night - pay at campsite reception around the corner (does'nt open until 10.00am on a Sunday). Only 10 minutes to ferry terminal.

Excellent stopover point when using the ferries to and from Dover. All water was working when we were there 18.05.2009. Can be very busy at weekends with all spaces taken and a bit cramped. If you are not there when they call for the 7 a note is left on your windscreen to call at the camp reception desk. This is about 100 metres away beside the Municipal camp site just outside the entrance to the Aire. The beach is very good and dogs are allowed on it from 17th October to May 14th but not during the summer season.

we stayed Xmas 2008, was surprised how so few motorhomes were on aire. It was free, the camp site was closed for the winter, the same staff who run the campsite also collect the 7 fee for the aire. In the summer months we have started stopping on the campsite as it has toilets, showers, electrics points for only a couple of euros extra per night. It also has a few pikey families living on site, but they are clean & tidy not like their English cousins.

Visited this site Saturday January 31st. It can be very noisy from the ferries maneuvering out the port. We did not pay any fee, someone had written "Free" on the sign. There were plenty of space but we had a Belgian registered van park so close our van shook when they slammed the door! The herding instinct?

Stumbled on this during 'last supper' in restaurant on corner. Were going to use the Sans Billet in the port. We got the last place tucked away amongst bigger units and once we sussed out the campsite next door and could access their toilets it was ideal. Got on about 9pm and off at 6.30am so no fees. Low rumble of ferries is so constant, found it no problem sleeping.

Visited June 2008 the man came round to collect money at 4.00 and again early evening so no getting away with it now. All seemed perfectly clean plenty of rubbish bins but did get very busy with only a few free places from the 58 that are supposed to be there. Will be using again as so convenient.

Stayed on the way home from Lake Annecy late August. Grey water and elsan disposable was a disgrace. Good for access into Calis and eating out/ferry home. Belgium vans having party, forget bins just put rubish out of your window. How many kids can you sleep in your motorhome garage ( depends how many kids you have) On the whole good stay over, company entertaining.
