| Information: | <p>A lovely friendly, quiet site with very good views from a plateau overlooking the town and ruins. </p><p>The pitches are all marked, flat, and on gravel and most are under high bamboo shelters. Some have high hedges on either side. There are some smaller grassy pitches under vines and suitable for campers or tents. These are below the main campsite area. There is some informal pitching under trees at the end of the site.</p><p>There is a very deep pool, bar, restaurant and small shop in season. The sanitary facilities are very good but they are down a slope and steps though an alternative- longer- route is available. There is wifi at the office and on some pitches: free for 30 minutes and then 1 euro per hour. 16 amp EHUs.</p><p>There is a paved footpath running downhill from the site to the ruins, in shade all the way and taking about 15 minutes. Coming back - uphill- we took a taxi from town at 5 euros ( May 2010)</p><p>Alternative spelling of this site on some internet sources= Alfios</p> | |
| Attractions Nearby: | Olympia...which is wonderful. Get there early before the coach parties. Museum excellent. Railway station in the modern town- which is next to the ruins- and usual shops, supermarkets etc. Best Western Hotel next door with public restaurant but other shops, restaurants all in town. | |
