Information:Very pleasant site built literally within the boundaries of an ancient pre-Roman hill fort. Historic value of site has been ruined first by military occupation during WWII, and also by some quarrying. But the location is still beautiful with fantastic views and easy access to Shrewsbury, Telford/Ironbridge and Welsh border country. Note that site has no toilet block, but there is washing up facility, chemical emptying point etc. Various concrete aprons left by army provide great hardstandings with good shade - big enough for RVs. Deep pond in part of old quarry is well fenced and should not present too many dangers for kids. Fishing is allowed. This is a very pleasant site as long as you are fairly self-sufficient.

A very peaceful site in delightful surroundings which more than makes up for the lack of toilet and shower block. Ideal for nature lovers, anglers or walkers. Very dog friendly but be aware that sheep may be grazing in the fields over which footpaths cross.

Staff very helpful. Small shop carries minimal stock but major supermarkets only 10 minutes drive away. If you need stuff for the motorhome or emergency repairs, Salop Leisure are a similar distance away.

We love this site. It is a limited-facilities C&CC site and as such there is no toilet block. Plenty of electric hook-ups. A delightful woodland walk on site with lots of bird nest-boxes mounted on the variety of trees. Fishing is said to be plentiful in the lake but it does suffer from weeds a lot. At the time we were there (2008) the wardens were not charging for fishing because of the weeds but were doing their best to clear the lake and therefore charges may now apply. Convenient for Ironbridge, Powis Castle, Attingham Park (NT). Plenty of supermarkets not far away for provisions.
