This is an excellent camp site with very good facilities.
Most of the camping is on grass and this can get a bit soft on wet days; there is a small hard standing area for vans.
Eskdale is fantastic for walks of all kinds, from gentle strolls by the river to serious mountains and everything in between. There is also the railway to Ravenglass. The site sells walk leaflets and has other information and the staff are always helpful.
Two very good pubs are only 5 minutes walk away. They both provide food and the Boot Inn has free wifi.
The site has a shop that has a good stock of basics - enough to make a meal if you needed, as well as local bottled beer and wine.
