Ordnance Survey:SW581405
Number Of Pitches:Unknown / N/A
Information:A pretty standard CC offering (one of the beauties of the CC is you know what to expect and the quality of the facilities and site is good), but in a location that is dog-walking heaven! Leave the site by the back gate and in one minute you are romping over acres of grass covered dunes on the way to a massive expanse of beach (not at high tide!) where dogs are permitted. Or wander down to the beach car park area and watch surfers and windsurfers. In Sep 2007, the wardens (or assistant wardens) were the best we had encountered.
Attractions Nearby:St Ives, excellent beaches, surfing.
Toilet Rating:Very Good
Opening Dates:March/23  November/5
Campsite Type:Caravan Club Site

A great site with well kept facilities...fastest washing machine ever for 3 and the dryer was 75p! Showers and toilets were clean and warm. We enjoyed the location- it was very windy during our visit and the site seemed quite exposed.

Our two dobermann's were in their element. Information about area being dog friendly is correct- only one beach in immediate area is no dogs. Beach stretches almost round to St Ives, lots of families on there and surf schools too. Surrounding beach are sand dunes with rabbits aplenty, all in the remains of an old ammunitions factory site.

Cafe near to car park also dog friendly and serves great food all day, and depending on time of year you can also book an evening meal. We met the owner on an early dog walk, and she also mentioned about adders but also said there had not been any seen this summer.

Bus route to local town is a fair walk away to the bus stop, and there are no paths immediately surrounding the campsite, so take care when walking. Buses were accepting of dogs, and paid just 60p each!

We enjoyed it so much, we will definately go back to the area again.

All wardens were helpful- and the site was well cared for. A key to the back gate meant you could be on the beach within 5-10 mins.

An excellent site as you would expect from the CC, it is doggy heaven but please be aware that the dunes are the haunt of adders and and in the summer months many dogs are bitten. Take care and enjoy.
