Number Of Pitches:15
Information:One of the most pretty aires we have ever stayed on. Follow the D84 out of Auxerre and turn left onto D348 signed Gurgy. On entering village instead of following main road round to the right go straight on to river edge. Turn left and the aire is 100 mtrs. Alongside the river Yonne Jetons needed for services sign says jetons obtained from cafe - not true jetons at restaurant only. Toilet block and showers need jetons but continental toilets - showers not inspected
Attractions Nearby:Very tranquil surroundings. River boats pull in for night stops, Beautiful river walks to Moneteau or Auxerre. Bike rides to same. Shops 200mtrs

Review Rating:: Very Good - Score 7

We stayed here in October as the parking at Auxerre was closed due to major refurbishment/roadworks.
Its a lovely spot overlooking the Yonne.
Sign said jetons for shower/water from the servicepoint now 4 and available from the nearby Proximarche or bar. Everything else free.
Paking for 2/3 motorhomes near the servicepoint and a further 6/8 further slots further along the road.
If the Auxerre parking remains closed then this aire will probably get very busy so arrive early.

Spent the night here at the end of September and it was very busy. Aim to arrive by about 5pm to get a space. Lovely peaceful spot with easy walk to village shop and restaurant, large supermarket in next village along the river bank.
The spaces nearest the village have street lighting but the whole aire felt safe and I would have no worries about spending the night here as a lone traveller
Services were out of action when we visited.

Revisited this aire in Jan 2008 and have to report that the WC disposal unit is still out of action (and smelling) Presumably some of our "more desperate" fellow travellers whose cassettes were full have continued to empty the contents onto the place where it doesn't drain away. There are canal/river works going on for the next few months and this has encroached onto the area for MH's along the canal bank causing several potholes on the drive to the parking area. A little disappointing for such a great little spot
