Number Of Pitches:40
Information:Stellplatz in nice and relatively quiet location on the banks of the River Rhine. Run by very friendly staff, who usually is on site between about 08:00 and 10:00 in the morning. Access is possible 24/7. On weekends during peak season pitch reservation (via website) is recommended. No caravans. New hookup points have been installed in 2012 which charge by consumption, not by time anymore. .5 EUR for 1 kWh. Restaurants are nearby. Good connections to the city centre via tram, but you can also ride on your bicycle along the Rhine in about 10 minutes into the centre. There is a possibility to order bread rolls for next morning delivery, and the neighbouring Youth Hostel offers to use their toilets and showers (against a fee). Service point of type "Holiday-Clean" at the site entrance. After several (attempted) nightly burglaries on motorhomes there is now a security guard on patrol. This is the main reason for the price increase. Frequent users should collect the tickets! Handing in tickets from 10 nights gives one night for free.

A very convenient place to stay while visiting Koln. Make sure you have change for the payment machine (8 euros).Long leads are needed from most pitches if you want an EHU. Quite a few of the pitches were reserved and no-one turned up while we were there, which, since the site was very busy, we felt was a bit disorganised. We tried to use the borne, in the car park at the entrance, next day but it was hemmed in by parked cars and we had no second chance to drive around and try again. I'd suggest you walk up and do a recce before you leave your pitch.

Yes the site is on the banks of the river but you'll have to be lucky to have a riverside view! We were there for two nights (Sat and Sun). The Saturday night I counted 93 Units stretching from the car park, along the lane, to the main stellplatz area. By the Sunday afternoon the number had reduced to about 8. Some quite obviously "long termers".

Still 8 euros per night (Nov 2010) plus 3 euros for 24hrs hook up- you'll need 50C pieces for the Electrics. The borne is at the car park entrance rather than at the stellplatz itself.
