| Attractions Nearby: | A very easy site for those visiting Vienna. Klosterneuburg Abbey is worth a visit. It is an easy walk from the site. There are plenty of cycle and footpaths paths along the Danube from the site. There is a sports and leisure centre (with pool and sauna) across the road and this- I understand- is either free or reduced price for campers. The modern art gallery, Gugging, is a short distance from the site by cycle or on foot. If you are going to do a day trip to Bratislava- about 1 hour from Vienna by train- then get the bus to Heigenstadt U bahn and then go to Simmering station, where you can catch the Bratislava train. Tickets are 14 euros return (which includes buses in Bratislava) and it makes a very good day out. | |
