As noted, surface is very badly potholed and needs a complete resurfacing job. 5 for24 hours, 2 for 10 minutes of water or 55 minutes 240v juice - but only one borne, so only for those nearby.

Still a lovely place to stop, perfect for the dog, but the surface is getting seriously potholed so watch out. The borne worked even in January. Still on our list though, try it, and certainly eat out, cheap, good moules.

5 per day (July 2011) patrolled by Agent of Supervision of the Public Way (ASVP) to ensure no problems.
Almost completely full by nightfall.
Plenty of dog walks, and plenty of dogs, at back of site in Dunes.
Bl**dy Peacock never shut up the day we were there - it was lucky not to finish up as 'Plat de Jour'!
Short walk to town for shops and eating establishments.
We had one on the best tasting meals we have ever had in France at one of the Restaurants - and also the worst service and wine we've ever had - all the same place.

I read the reviews here on MHF and also heard many people mention this aire.. Lovely stopover, as stated 5euro a night so get coins ready for the machine,, They do check as my neighbour was given some sort of ticket by someone in a uniform :)..
Lovely town for a walk and plenty of fresh sea food... Must have been 50 vans when we stopped but still loads of space.
Well recommended..

Visited end Feb 2011. No charge made until May we understand. Still quiet despite about 20 'vans being there. Toilet and waste dump available.

Now 6 Euros (cash in machine). Arrived 9th August 2010 at 17.00, plenty of space. Le Crotoy itself was an unexpected pleasure in the summer, enough bars and restaurants and a great atmosphere.

We stay here often, usually getting into Calais in the evening and driving straight down to Le Crotoy. (It knocks an hour off the next days drive)
We headed there last Friday 18th June. Approaching along the bay we noticed something wrong. All the motorhomes were parked along the dyke. When we got there there were only some 4 or 5 motorhomes on the aire. It had just been resurfaced - sand which was blowing up into the air. Anyway, we bagged a front seat view and later saw a policeman trying to get the others back onto the aire, with little luck. Next morming they all reluctantly returned!

great campsite close to the centre of town. Absolutely packed and was just able to squeeze in. The pay meter for water was broken. Good for cycling right along the estuary. Lot of reconstruction and roads blocked on the north side of town.

The location of the Aire is superb. It's right next to the small harbour and a very short and pleasant walk into the town of Le Crotoy which is nice and well stocked. There is a Casino minimarket which is pretty good and a market for fresh food etc. We had some fantastic cheese and local sausage which was a treat. Yes, it's busy but so what? Most people are friendly and althought the vans are sometimes squeezed in, again - so what? Don't like this set-up, don't use it! It's not too far from Calais either so you can reach it having taken a 9pm ferry from Dover.

Chose to go on a French bank holiday, oh boy was it busy as you can see from the picture, just managed to get 2 of us in with 3 places left, easily 200 vans squashed in there. Still had a lovely time and no noise at night only stayed one night and they where queueing for our spots as we left. Excellent cycling around the area, away from road sides and ideal for children.

Good aire 5 Euros at meter for 24 hours. Very handy for town. Great flat cycling in surrounding area with many off road tracks. Good bird watching on the estuary and marshes. Seal watching and boat trips from the nearby harbour.

You now need 5 euros in coins for the parking meter. Site is very close to the rather nice town
