Visited as an overnight stopover on return from Austria to Amsterdam ferry. Found the site easily although it appears at the end of a small housing estate close to riding stables and adjoining a school. No one home so we read the sign, raised the barrier and let ourselves in, chose a spot and hooked up. Allocated space is generous with two pitches to each double hook up point. Only 4 other vans and 10 inches of snow during our stay. Friendly warden arrived at 4pm and cost is now 14 euros per night and three nights max. Very tidy quiet site with running water, 16 amp hook up and light for each pitch. Small toilet block and single shower all clean but not immaculate. Wash up sinks are outside the toilet block and even at -12 still worked. Toilets are cosy warm and plenty of hot water. Shower is 1 euro for 5 mins.
We walked into town (15 mins, 2km approx) and very impressed with the place. Plenty bus routes after first 5 mins of walking. Shops stay open to 7pm. Restaurants and bars around centre area. Aral garage close to site at crossroads with small grocery shop.
Overnight temp was -16 but facilities still warm so had a hot shower.
Ideal stopover, great value and we will be back to visit Aachen. We were impressed with the variety of boutiques and unusual shops in this university town.

Been there this weekend for the xmas market, the place was heaving much more than the limit and they just kept arriving and leaving again.
We discovered in the morning that there is a car park next door (hidden by a hedge) and there must have been another 30 vans in there for the night also.
Still 12 Euros, don't park too close to the wooden shed in the picture it is the early morning bread shop, they where only open for around half hour.
When you leave the site turn right , walk down hill then up to the cross roads here you can catch a number 1,11,21 or 46 bus into town centre, cost us around 5 euros for 3 adults and child return.
Market was excellent, very spread around the town so never give up looking for more.
