Number Of Pitches:Unknown / N/A
Information:This is a lovely camp site, within 10 minutes walk of the charming town of Charleville-Mezieres. You walk across the bridge and along a cobbled street and you are in the main square - a fantastic large and ornate spot. The facilities are good, the water is hot in the showers, the washing machine is free to use and there is a tumble drier with a small charge. However, the facilities are not as clean as I would like. The site has free wifi. The pitches are mostly grassy and all have hedge boundaries. There is also some hard standing.
Attractions Nearby:The town is pleasant to look around. 2 kms cycle ride away is the start of the Voie Verte, a fantastic 80 km dedicated cycle route along the river Meuse. You can catch the train in Charleville to different points on the route and cycle as much or as little as you wish. We cycled 40 kms back to the camp site one day.

Campsite was easy to find using the address on MHF in the satnav and local sign posting for the site.

We had no reservation but this was not a problem, the site was pretty quite. We booked in and were put on the camping car hardstanding rather than a pitch. This area is in front of the shower block which was nice and clean. A couple of showers and toilets and the washing up part all in this 1 block. Lots of hot water.

The site looks well looked after and care taken of the pitches.

We walked across the bridge into the town which only took a few mins and the grand place is a very nice place to be. There are bars, restaurants and shops in the complex and then more pedestrian shopping areas beyond.

We had out evening meal at Garden Ice Cafe in the Grand place, the far right corner from where you come into the square from the campsite. The meal was excellent, service slowed up though as it got later into Saturday night.

When I arrived back to the van after the meal we had a note on to visit reception in the morning before leaving. Turns out I was due a refund as we were charged 25Euro for the night for 2 adults,1 child and electric. The guy who booked us on also charged us a pitch fee I think too instead of just the camping car hardstanding. I got 10Euro back making it a better value 15Euro ish a night. I expected it to be expensive from reading the previous review on here.

I did manage to access the free wifi, but I needed to stand directly outside reception. They give you the code on asking.

The town is well worth visiting, there is an aire just outside the campsite too so this might be a better option though.

Toilets were clean when we visited. Good facilities with 10 amp. elec.
Showers were fierce & water goes everywhere, so don't leave your shoes on the floor!
Could not access the free wifi, even near the office.
Dear for a municipal - we paid 18.21 euros in June.
