Hello,

I know Mercedes have started to build the 3 series Sprinter on a Special Low Frame Alko chassis. However, we recently saw a 518 Sprinter with a Badge bearing Alko and a serial number.

DO Alko make high frame chassis for Mercedes too?

YES,
Alco make a special chassis for the sprinter and it carries a full independant suspension rear axle. It was shown at Dussledorf in 2007.
Yes that is the low frame that I mentioned. Just been made available with a higher 4 ton GVW

How could you tell it was a high frame? Not questioning your judgement, just very interested.

Too slow on the keyboard again. Is it for motorhomes though? If so why?
Because the Manufacturers Literature states the model I am talking about is on a high frame.

Low line Alko is the single axle single rear wheels

The one I saw was on single axle but twin wheels.

Maybe Alko just made the chassis extension.
