Hi all, does anyone know of a way to avoid having to pay charges each time I fuel up or draw cash using my debit card. Just looked at my bank statement after a trip to France and each transaction cost me at least £1.25 ! I think I read on here that there is a bank that supplies a debit card and does not make these charges. The limiting factor is that I live on the Isle of Man and as such can't open accounts with many banks. :?

I may be wrong but i think that bank changed its policy and now charges :evil:

Fatalhud is missinformed.

Nationwide provide free cashpoint access in EUROPE - and very good rates. They've just started charging outside of Europe. This is the "visa" charge - so per se nationwide don't charge still - they just no longer absorb the charge outside of Europe.

In Europe - free to use and flippin' good rates!
