Could I say sorry?
Got a feeling that the old forum didn't like me, as soon as I signed up and posted a picture, the site crashed!!

Hello, again.

My names Glenn and I own a 1984 Jiffy Romahome.
I'll try to post some pictures of the 'beast' for you to look at.

Its a bit of a rare beast, only two were ever made using the Jiffy base vehicle and the body from a de-mountable Acty Romahome.

The Jiffy was a Mini based kit vehicle from the 1980's, of which about 70 were made into a variety of useful vehicles, including Flatbeds, milk floats and also Box lorries.
I'll try my best to sort out some pictures for you.
Cheers for now,
Glenn

Cheers Dave,
No, the inside needed a little TLC too!

The previous (or previous to that) owners had a dog, and this was very evident!
The mice and other inhabitants had been removed before we got there, but on stripping down the dashboard etc, we found where they had been hiding!

When we bought her back, the brakes didn't work, and nor did some of the lights, or the horn.
Once I had got all the work done for the MOT, (that I was capable of!) then in she went!
MOT cost £125!!!
Since then, the 12volt split charge has been rewired, as has the complete 240v hook up system, with a new D/board and 'chrome' sockets!!(they looked so much better that the plastic ones! Must be a man thing!)
I have pressure tested the gas system, removed and cleaned the heater and 2 ring hob/grill.
Biggest purchase so far is the fridge! Had to get one for the beers!! :D

Seats have been re-upholstered, new curtains made and also covers for the overcab area, and also the leisure battery compartment.

We are planning to redo the walls and ceiling before the end of July as we are going to the Classic CC National, and we also have a Mini Event in Kent.

So its a busy year for me.
We have only been away once, but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Best thing about the weekend? Sitting in the back with a cup of tea watching others put their tents away!!!!! 8)

Any other questions? Feel free to ask and i'll do my best to answer,

Cheers
Glenn

Guess whos back!!!! Hello everyone. \:D/

Sorry I've been away ages doing other bits and pieces and other hobbies.

I'm back now, Buzz, the Jiffy Camper is up for MOT next week then I'm going to detail the engine bay and start with the interior!!

Take a look at the link in my signature to my Jiffy website.

Loads of pictures in there, and I've been emailed by a gentleman who wants to bin his Honda Acty and put his Romahome on the Jiffy Chassis he has!!

Oh, and those of you who has seen the article in the MMM, I've been in touch, i'll keep you updated!!

Funnily enough I was thinking of your jiffy when I asked for a forum for us smaller vans. Nukeadmin obliged but acted on a post on that thread and called it panel van conversions but its really for any of us tiddlers.

Welcome back

Brilliant bit of kit. Wish I could do renovating but I guess the world needs balance so people like me are put on this earth to keep people like you busy. Then when you have finished being busy, people like me buy the stuff back again at a premium. Spooky how lifes rich circle keeps popping up.

Hello again to those that remember me!!!

It's been a while since I was on here last, but am getting the jiffy's back on the road.

'Buzz' the yellow Jiffy Romahome currently has its rear end in the air and is about to have its beam axle removed due to a leaf spring snapping!!

Going to get alot of work done to it over the next few weeks, including new leaf springs being made up!!

Have just re-subscribed, and will keep you updated as I go!!

(Just been to the Motorhome show in Exeter and bought a Double Skillet, so got to get it on the road soon!!!   )
