I assume that you wish to charge these batteries via the van's alternator whilst on the move, in which case you require a split charge system, sounds difficult but not. Suggets you take a look at the following site http://www.kampenwagen.co.uk/, the perpetrator , Gary, is a wizz on electrics and gives a details on installing a split chrge system
As ballykea has mentioned on most vechicles the leisure battery is charged by the vechicles alternator when the engine is running. The Haynes motor home book has a circuit diagram for split charge systems. If you are talking about charging from the built in 240v - 12v converter then it depends on the unit and how it has been wired up. On my motor home (an Autocruise Stargazer) the control panel has a switch to select either battey for supply or charging.
Do you have a circuit diagram in your manual :?:
Regards Mark
You can get these switches from good suppliers like Leisure Power of Warrington, possibly CAK Tanks, Charles & Son (thinks thats their name) and a few others.
Funnily enough have been to a rdaio rally today and one of the stalls had them on.
