Hi Peterandmilly

I assume that you wish to charge these batteries via the van's alternator whilst on the move, in which case you require a split charge system, sounds difficult but not. Suggets you take a look at the following site
http://www.kampenwagen.co.uk/, the perpetrator , Gary, is a wizz on electrics and gives a details on installing a split chrge system

Good evening Peterandmilly,

As ballykea has mentioned on most vechicles the leisure battery is charged by the vechicles alternator when the engine is running. The Haynes motor home book has a circuit diagram for split charge systems. If you are talking about charging from the built in 240v - 12v converter then it depends on the unit and how it has been wired up. On my motor home (an Autocruise Stargazer) the control panel has a switch to select either battey for supply or charging.
Do you have a circuit diagram in your manual :?:
Regards Mark

You can get these switches from good suppliers like Leisure Power of Warrington, possibly CAK Tanks, Charles & Son (thinks thats their name) and a few others.
Funnily enough have been to a rdaio rally today and one of the stalls had them on.
