I suppose undecided might mean yes in effect as it doesn't say no so I'd park up, but check any signage with google translate just to be on the safe side and take a picture of the signage too.

On some aires where a fee is charged producing a BB MAY reduce or totally remove the overnight charge. That is often NOT explained on the board but if “a little man” appears to collect fees, it is worth producing it as you offer to pay.

I suspect its where the aire is also a car park and parking is free for Blue Badge holders ergo free for MH Blue Badge owners perhaps?

This is the case at one aire we regularly use in NE France.

When are you going in for new knees Barry?
When I manage to get round to loosing some bleeding weight! Physio says I could have them now (or one at least first) within six months but both him and the surgeons advise I loose a lot of weight first mainly because of my age. They dont last forever and are hard to redo. Ive heard so many horrors stories also. Maybe if we get away in the van shortly for six months hopefully ill do better, I dunno. Own worst enemy. I used to do a lot of swimming and could do a mile in less than 30 minutes but Covid knackered that. Everything else apart from Kayaking is too painful and I enjoy the finer things in life a bit too much. :(

Hmm so your ongoing pain is basically self inflicted, Liz had to lose a bit of weight for hers doing, had both about a year apart, they're ready for redoing now, hopefully they will do a better job, poor bugger struggles to sit stand or climb stairs as they didn't include enough bend.

Losing weight when you're not fit enough to exercise properly isn't easy at all, it has to be diet led, but if you are sitting around and like a drink, not at all easy, I lay off the biscuits etc nowadays, except if we go out which is less often.

I had a disability badge in the UK when my arthritis was first discovered and I could only walk a short distance without help, my doctor helped me fill in the form and said to put less than 100 yards that I could walk without help. I must try for one again now
I need my Ferrari.

I put an application in and paid for it today, for my FiL so we'll see how long it takes to get it.

I'm sure I posted this elsewhere, but my blue badge went missing at the end of March, searched everywhere, rang places we'd been according to my Google timeline (useful) nothing, so I rang the council to report it lost, they send me a letter, the lady I spoke to also told me I had to report it via this website https://www.reportmyloss.com/uk/ for which there is a charge, which I do straight away, but if she hadn't told me I would have been stuffed as I didn't see it anywhere else. I fill in the letter which is only missing the number from the above website so why couldn't I just do that online or over the phone, days wasted going back n forth, I got a letter on Tuesday saying I could have a new badge, (they could have refuses it seems) £10 please (fair enough) So I ordered a new cover for it off eBay, I rang council again this morning to see how long before I would get it as we are supposed t be going away end of next week and it makes a huge difference being able to park the van closer to amenities etc, up to 12 weeks it seems, printed down south somewhere, I just think a bit of joined up thinking and better organisation would bring the lead time down and provide a better service, and I still think a credit sized card in addition, would also help.
Just updating this post, the new blue badge had just arrive, I think it's a bit crap that it has taken so long to send one, there ought to be a temporary one sent out from the local council while you await the proper plastic one, they have all the info needed, it could have a code visible to the ones who would need proof, I have been fortunate that I've been able to park close to where I needed to be when going out, but often this is not the case hence the need for a badge in the first place, and what do they expect us to do in the meantime for some this would mean they were housebound more or less.

Anyway, it's here thank god, but on looking at there is a bit of stuff in foreign languages so they did they expect it to be able to be used outside of the UK, or is it just for foreign residents who a badger?

I guess perhaps they haven't amended it since we left the EU Kev?

What's that...about 8 weeks? Long time for you to be without it matey. I put an application in for the Fil a few weeks ago and am expecting it to be around 10 weeks or so before we get it (hopefully).

It certainly is when you have got used to having one, in supermarkets I just thought stuff it and parked as close as I could to the door, not in a BB spot I had but on x hatches etc.

I was just looking to see how long it took for mine to drop through the letterbox G, but I don't know, but first you have to apply, then you have to see a doctor, then he puts in his report, then the council say ok, then they order the badge, then when it's printed they send it to you, 12 weeks was quoted I think when I sent in my £10, so they don't exactly get a move on.

The date on the original is 03/10/19, so working back to paying for it, would be great but no record on my account so buggered there.

Righty, looked at my emails and on the 18/05/19, I got an acknowledgement of my application, so approx FIVE months from app to having one.

When Mrs GMJ's renewal was refused and we had to appeal we still had hers for a month or two before it ran out but I do remember when we were waiting for the new one, there was no urgency. They turned down the renewal for a lady with a degenerative illness who isn't going to get better; then overturned it on appeal but didn't have the good grace to speed the renewal through the system after their error!!

This thread has relevance to our situation now so I am very grateful for it. It fills me with dread when I see that you have to send photos of things but I did manage it for photos of the footings to the Building Inspector so, if I use the ipad I might succeed.

I also think that Chris would qualify for attendance allowance or whatever it is called now. I remember from my mum that it doesn't matter if you have family to help. The allowance is to give you, personally, help. He is not really allowed to drive so that would mean if he wants to go out he will need a taxi. He cannot do daily tasks so he would have to pay someone etc. I know that you do need to be careful how you word your answers. For instance my mum was almost blind but put down that she could dress herself. A lady from the charity for blind people told her that she could not be sure that her clothes were clean or that they matched so she should say "no" to dressing herself.
