You may need to apply for PIP Pat or DLA if its still in use in your area. We have to do this for Mrs GMJ and it is not a great experience. If you want to please PM me and I'll gladly relate our experiences and the help we received when filling out the 48 pages!

I honestly cant see why you should get free access on a paid for Aire Dave with a blue badge.
we have never seen an explanation, or actually used it. One other potential advantage is that with a valid BB AND a Crit-Air sticker in the windscreen, the vehicle is permitted into city centres where restrictions based on the Crit-Air sticker alone would prohibit taking the vehicle into the city.

I must say though, that even with such “freedom” I would still neither be tempted, or willing to take a MH into eg the centre of Lyon, Paris or any other such city. I suppose if driving an older car, it might be more tempting for access to eg a hospital.

I heard you the first time Graham 😁

I think that OAP's still get DLA but am willing to be corrected. I am half way through the Blue Badge application which, thankfully, can be saved. Daughter has offered her help with the technical side of sending the evidence etc. All experiences gratefully received so I will pm you. I read them out to Chris because he is such an honest ***** that he down plays all his ailments. We are in that age bracket where women were expected to care for others and although our conscious minds resist those thoughts of me doing everything for him they still creep in. Just the fact of not driving should be enough to warrant the DLA but we fall into thinking that I can always take him.

The aire we use in the Vosges is free for blue badge holders. Overnighting is 7€ for able bodied.

There are still warnings about use of the UK Blue Badge when abroad.

We have used ours in France recently with no issues tbh.

I very much doubt that there will be problems using in France unless there is a really officious police municipal officer. Even so, their powers are limited, like in the U.K. they cannot tow away or lamp a vehicle displaying a BB.

I periodically check the government blue badge advice pages in the UK and the situation has been the same since Brexit tbh. The news article link I posted is just a rehash of old news. Must be a quiet news day I suppose...

I very much doubt that many EU countries will devote much time to discussing something which can only hit the disabled, thereby making them less likely to return. It does nothing to the Government or the politicians that got the U.K. into the fine mess….
