Camos + Black Box Receiver set-up

5255 Views 12 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  gorobschnitt
Successfully had my Camos dome installed today together with the Blackbox receiver. Gary (central-leisure-services) who installed it all for me did a brilliant and neat job but only had experience with the Pace box set-up. Although satellite locked okay couldnt really find an easy set-up option.

Before I give up and buy a Pace 1000 if anyone has experience with the Camos box i would appreciate any help. I have an english translation of the german manual but it isn't very user friendly

What receiver are you trying to use then?

Its the CAMOS "Black Box" FTA Sat receiver camos black box
Is the Camos black box just the widget which locks on to a given satellite, as opposed to being able to receive and present the satellite broadcast?

Do you not require some kind of digital receiver - either generic free to air receiver, Sky receiver, or FreeSat type box?
ah, I was thinking of the box, which is black, and came with my Camos installation which shows which satellite it has acquired - as opposed to the product link above...
Hi

The box is the one which controls the dome and has the flashing lights on the front.

You should have a cable comming out of the box to which you connect a sky / FTA sat box, this will give you a picture when conected to a TV. Id recommend that you go for a 12v FTA box as the dome is also 12v and will allow you to watch TV when not on EHU.

We also have a Sky box fitted which means we can use the Sky card from home in it and get more channels when on 240v. If we go away for more than a weekend we take the box from home as we then get all the Sky channels. We also have a switch box for the 2 boxes to allow us to change between them easily.

I already have a sat box - the Camos Black Box, which is a receiver (see link above)! I just want someone who has the same to help me out.
Black Box

The Black Box is the Brand name of the 12 Free To Air receiver supplied by Camos. It has a remote eye and can be hidden away. Programming is straight forward just mark astra 2 and eurobird then search.

Liam - many thanks. I presume I 'mark' the 2 sats in the set-up menu?
Yes that is correct I should have said that.

Sorry, missunderstood your post  . There is however a copy of the instructions on the link posted which may be of help. Looks like a nice box though

No worries Andy. I think i just need a bit of 'me' time to play with the thing and see what it can do. I found it frustrating that it didn't look 'easy' but it's definitely me!
