know nothing about golf  However he who will be sitting in the passenger seat has a 'just' single figure handicap (says i'm his biggest handicap). Will ask him tonight and let you know his thoughts.
Damn this will confirm he can take the clubs with him

I recently purchased a set of Wilsons £300 new all the Irons. Had Ping before which are better quality but Wilson are far more forgiving. Take a look at them.
Have spoken to the golfer in the family. Who agrees you should try as many as you can.
His first question was where do you live.
Reason being he has quite a selection, have had a look and see you are in Ipswich, a bit away from Hull.
He suggests you look for clubs with a 'regular' shaft rather than the senior as this (old farts club   ) tends to be whippy.
Good luck with the search

Hi Suggest you go to your local American Golf Shop, If you are in Hull there is one there they have an area where you can test them and also try them, They will also accept a Barter.
I can highly recommend the Ping G5 I used to have a double figure handicap and never seemed to be able to get any better, I tried numerous sets of clubs with always the same outcome.
Got a set of G5's from my local American Pro Golf shop and three weeks later I was down to single figure handicap and getting better.
If you go to www.americangolf.co.uk you can look at all various club sets and get your local store address.
Also agree most clubs now come in sets 4 - 9 plus SW - W
American Golf Discount always have a wide range of clubs from all the leading brands to browse.
In the stores which I have visited you are also able to test them out in their practice area and they'll also do a bit of a swing analysis for you.
Beware the heavy sales pitch towards certain brands though, as these are purely the biggest profit makers for the staff, and not necessarily the club's you prefer!!
I've used them in the past to see pretty much all the major brands at once (up close), but found a deal better elsewhere; online or even the club pro may do a good deal!
I would definately buy a set of Ping and have them custom fitted (which is free) at Ping in Gainsborough. My handicap has dropped from 16 to 9 since I had my clubs PROPERLY fitted. Do not get fitted by American discount, etc, as you would be wasting your time and money.

Yep, I agree as well. Spend the money on as many custom fitted clubs as you can afford.
