Flip Down Monitor

Hi, does anyone know where I can get parts for our flip down monitor that’s fitted in our Auto trail?

We have just had it apart as the screen was playing up and on investigating deeper we have found that the wire from the monitor to the headlining has got some broken wires in it which is not repairable.

The make of the monitor is Obserview which have a website in USA, but there are no parts listed on there. :(

I think I'd start by asking Autotrail for their supplier's contact details
We are currently waiting on Autotrail's supplier SCS (part of Sargent) delivering a new one for our Cheyenne. It sounds like a similar fault to yours, no power getting to screen via the cable into screen from ceiling.

Bad news is that a replacement (under warranty) is likely to be £500.

How old is your van?
If less than 3 years old it should be covered under the extended warranty as it is classed as part of the reversing camera system fitted at factory.
Our's is just over 3 years old in May :(

I have got Autotrail down on my list of people to ring tomorrow with the hope of just being able to buy the cable.

You would be better ringing Sargent directly

Hi, interested to know why the cable is un-repairable. Surely any cable can be repaired even if its a bit of a patch up job?
My other half did last night patch the wires together with the hope of it working again (which we will find out later today when he tries it).

But he mentioned that one of the wires has a coil on it!! So if the repair doesn't work, we were trying to locate a replacement.

I am at present waiting for a call back from SCS to comfirmed if they have one or not.

I will update later if repair worked or not....fingers crossed.

Thank you lufc for telling me about SCS.

I contacted them the next day, they managed to find me a replacement lead in stock for the cost of £23.00 (including p+p), which I received Friday.

Friday night my other half fitted it and put all the screen back in place and ha presto, all working fine again.

Many Thanks for you help :D
