French unrest.

Just a thought. Most of the French protestors marching and blockading Paris and major cities in France are young. In fact very young and the impending pension change from age 62 to 64 won't affect them for another 40 years.
In the meantime so much can change and probably will happen that pensions and other life matters will bear no resemblance to todays problems.

The twitter post is not accurate and it has nothing to do with the privatisation of water supplies. It is about "the construction of water reservoirs for farmers to use for irrigation during the summer months "

Beware of fitting a rain butt in your garden, the Green party could accuse you of "an appropriation and privatization of the water resource by a few to the expense of the majority"

The DUP have been justifying the same thing in NI for years Ray, so they can justify it. I am sure there are plenty in France who use the same rationalisation. "Oh dear, that's awful, but it's not hard to understand why they do it. The won't stop till they get what they want:"

For comparison here is the latest news on the UK plan to raise the retirement age to 68. "At the moment, the age limit is based on ensuring no-one spends more than one third of their adult life in retirement. A separate review by the government's actuary was examining the latest life expectancy data. "

Compared to the French reaction, our approach does rather remind me of the classic Father Ted image...

Only if he plans to invade again.

The extent to which this remark shows him to be out of touch really is beyond belief. The EU has almost 90% approval in the RoI. I don't think anyone bothers to poll on it but I'd be amazed if joining the UK could even reach 1%.

Frost is a fruitloop.

He has spent too much time being brainwashed by Right-Smug who wants to return the U.K. to the 19th Century, or earlier……

Apparently they were using e-scooters to fuel fires in Paris. A referendum in the city, after numerous reported accidents, has now resulted in Paris being the first city in the world to ban them.

The ban applies to rental E-Scooters, which were the subject of the referendum.

"Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, said rental e-scooters companies will no longer have a license to operate in the city from Sept. 1. In a referendum held on Sunday, 90% of Parisians voted to get rid of the contentious vehicles."

Yes sorry I should have stated that is was only rentals affected.
