Getting fed up waiting for parts

11375 Views 337 Replies 13 Participants Last post by  JanHank
Goodness only knows when Auto-Trail will send the parts and the devil only knows when they will get here so I´m back to thinking it may be wise for me to get another van, howsomever which make.
There is no other van this side of the water like my Navajo, all have fixed beds for a start cutting down on my daytime space, I can´t find one with flat flooring, the ones I have seen all have steps inside and steps up to the beds at the back. It must be single beds not a double. Does anyone have any ideas for me? My licence covers C1, but I don´t want a bus, just a 2 berth motorhome. Any tips please.

This is the Navajo layout.

Fingers crossed two weeks is a long time but I expect he has other customers to satisfy.

He is always busy Kev, because his work is excellent and I dare say the cars are more important because they take people to work.
He said he worked on the van over the weekend to get as much done as he could.

I sent him a YouTube video yesterday after I had seen him, of a door frame being removed, he can´t understand English, it´s easy to follow without the speech, but maybe the Navajo door is not the same.

At a guess it's be a Hartal door, many converters use them, we have one on ours.
Not sure if it is a Hartal door of course, I looked on there website to see if there was a fitting video, they may have if asked but I didn't see one.

It is quite a bit different because the Navajo door has a flyscreen attached to the doorframe, before the flyscreen got burnt it was already damaged when Motley tried to get in the door when the screen was shut, he never tried that trick again but he broke two of the elastic bits that hold the screen back, Hans said it was nigh on impossible to replace it without taking the van to bits 😁.

I'm going to email Tynevalley now too. see if they can help., thanks for the idea Puddle, you come in handy sometimes ;)
Ours has a flyscreen too, never use it.
European doors are not normally fixed from the outside.
Dependant on manufacturer they are normally fixed via brackets screwed into the door frame surround from the aperture.
Most flyscreens are fixed via push in tabs that are fixed to the door surround and the screen housing itself.

I use mine all the time in the summer.
Anyway, I have been told it´s made by Dometic and she gave me some places to try, got onto a so called expert Calle Jose Sebastian in Tewksbury on one of these question and answer arrangements, paid £5.00 for the privilege. I explained what I wanted and this was the first answer

Dear customer my name is Jose Sebastian the expert who will attend you today, I am reviewing your query at the moment you are viewing this message, if you wish you can tell me your name, to know who I have the pleasure to talk to, also if possible I would like you to send me a photo or video in which your fault is better appreciated, it would help a lot to improve my final answer. If you have done a previous check or diagnosis in which you have obtained any error codes, that would also be helpful. Please note that the system will automatically offer you a service call, this has an additional cost to the initial cost of the consultation, and not in all cases it is necessary, so I recommend you to dispense with the call for now, we can continue through this chat without any problem. Thank you very much for trusting in the just answer.

Then came

Dear customer, could you please tell me the exact year and model of your caravan?

When this came

Dear Janet, thank you for clarifying this, what exactly is the fault with your net?

and a camera floating around my screen (never seen that before) that I couldn´t get rid of and also couldn´t leave the screen I had to make a restart to get rid of it.

Maybe I have because I haven´t heard any more. Funny how as soon as I clicked to say visa they already knew my number and security number, is this normal?

No I dont think so. So just for clarity you called the 0344 Tewksbury number above, then what happened? Did someone take control of your computer? Best give us the full run down of events.

No no the only people who have had control over a computer of mine are you and Apple; I didn’t call anyone all done with the written question and answer.
You can contact Dometic Germany on dometic.com/de-de/support they also have a uk site which is dometic.com/en-gb/support/uk
