There's probably not much in a standard hab service if you're handy and have the kit for the damp test etc. but if you're cack-handed like me... 8O
Also it's a condition of the Swift warranty I think that the hab service is done annually by a dealer or "competent" workshop, if that concerns people at all.

It's a bit like those pubs that do two meals for the price of one, and put their prices up to accommodate that! Of course I'm not saying that the named dealers are doing that :roll:
And as has been said, why is it so expensive, and most of it can be done yourself. 8)

You can pay in excess of £50,000 for a motorhome So why does the thought of spending less than £100 a year to have a habitation service and to keep your warranty in force seem a waste of money :? A full habitation service takes around 2 - 3 hours to complete using specialist equipment i.e manometer / pressure test , gas flue analyser , damp meter etc....

I only have the water ingress check done to keep the warranty valid, as the majority if not all of the items on the standard habitation list have no listed maintenance to be carried out how can they affect the warranty.
I have had a new Chausson and a new Autosleeper in the past and it was confirmed in eash case by the dealer or manufaturer that the lack of a habitation check did not and could not invalidate the warranty.
For example the Burstner warranty is 2 years so if the Dometic fridge went wrong in this time then they would have to deal with it, as in fact Camper UK are doing at the very moment.

Yes, I looked at the website and it looks good. But he doesn't cover the NE or NW does he? Barry's in the NE and I'm in the NW (far NW at that!).JohnsCrossMotorHomes said:

I am from the North East and we have met Mark on a site in the Midlands to have work done.
The way I look at it you have a M/H to travel about so why not get a service done when you are away, all you need to do is plan ahead and make arrangments with Mark.
The money you will save using CLS will pay for your trip away as well, so everyone is a winner IMHO

Mark from CLS did our habitation check at the Newbury show. He did a very good job and I shall be getting him to do it next year - Hopefully at the show again :lol:
If you are going to be at any shows check with Mark and if he's there I'm sure he can fit you in.
