Am thinking of getting a handheld GPS for when we are walking, would like it to cover UK and France at the minimum, any reccomendations would be appreciated, also, can they be used in the motorhome by the passenger when I am driving

Hello stevec195,
Our Garmin 255wt we use in all vehicles covers all Europe and can be slid into a pouch on my belt. Battery lasts about 4 hours.
We take it rambling here in France every week to check the distance covered.

Garmin GPS V. If you can find one on Ebay and it is complete with maps disc and yellow registration card, then it is hard to beat.
Fully waterproof, slightly bigger than an Etrex, but maps can be installed. This was my first ever in car Sat Nav and it is still going strong for bike mounts and finding the way around cities.
