Checking my pump for low flow I was suprised to find two pumps fitted in series one with a Hymer pt no the second plain,the fittings did not look very good is this a Hymer installation or has the previous owner done an add on?Anyone found a similar set up?

On my (2003) Hymer there is only one pump. In my case that didn't give enough pressure and needed replacing. Maybe the previous owner of your van had a similar problem, and solved it in a different way?
