I spent an hour and half on a Hymer yesterday that I would like to "go for", but in all that time I failed to look underneath. I assume the fuel tank is close to one side or the other, would there be room for another opposite.

I quite like the look of this

delivering fuel at 66p a litre inc. vat. or get a licence from Uncle Gordons boys and DIY.

Although their method is to provide a modest tank for the "real" fuel, I thought that travelling, especially on the Continent, more regular diesel would be a good thing. I suppose you can load real diesel into the veg tank but still..

Someone I know of whose name must remain a secret has run a diesel vehicle on up to 40% vegetable oil added directly into his fuel tank, Everything seems to work OK that is if you don't mind smelling like chip shop. Tesco's vegetable oil is about 53p a litre, tempting!

20 litre drums at the Cash and Carry must be a good deal better than this, one can also buy it off the chippy and clean it, go a bit further and it can be turned into real diesel. Something to amuse me as retirement beckons, maybe.

Yes but HM Customs have a nasty way with them and I wouldn't want to go down that route without Gordons bit of paper in my hand showing I was my own bona fide fuel supplier.

As a matter of fact Customs have such little respect for anyone that I wouldn't lift a finger to help them, and wouldn't think of crossing them for a moment. Nasties. If we ever get to a Police state, (and sometimes it feels rather close), they need only open the door of HM Customs to get all the recruits they need. (I do not, by-the-way, include the VAT inspectors who, at least with me, have been as decent as their job allows).

Might be interesting if les flic (sp) got a whiff and stopped you, might be difficult to persuade them that one was legal.
