We saw this sorry sight in Alkmaar on the site we stayed at. The weather had been atrocious for the previous week or so in the Netherlands and I guess that her awning just didn't match up to it...

The owner arrived a day after we did to tidy this up but you would have thought that the site may have collected her things up and put them in their ample storage...especially as she was a seasonal.

Fairly typical of many sites though - they are more concerned with themselves than their paying customers.

Does that mean that the unit was left without anyone around while the storm was blowing and that the owner only arrived a day or so later? If so, many sites stipulate that units cannot be left unattended - probably for just that reason.

I am also disappointed that other users nearby didn't try and sort things out to make it better, sad reflection on human values.....

I could not have stood by and watch it happen and certainly would have been there immediately to try to minimise subsequet damage by stacking the materials away......

I think it was a seasonal so would only be inhabited weekends and certain weeks during the season, like most seasonals I guess.

It was rather a sad sight and the woman was not best chuffed when she arrived (understandably)
