As an avid motorhomer, I am always looking out for that ideal van and at the right price. Narrowing the search down to a mobiveltta euroyacht, mirage or Luxor but cannot afford new at those prices but...........................,a friend pointed out the advert for Palmowski (in Germany I think) and their new Euroyacht is £33,100 +VAT compared to a UK DEALER BARGAIN AT £47,000?
hAS ANYONE ANY EXPERIENCE OF DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY AND DO THEY SELL SECONDHAND MOBIVELTTA FOR IMPORT AND HOW DO WE FAIR BUYING SECONDHAND FROM ABROAD.

Hi,
Last year I bought a new m/home from Palmowski. It was very easy to arrange, a couple of phone calls plus emails. Excellent service from Julien, their sales manager. The temporary German vehicle registration was arranged by Palmoski, and collecting from Bielefeld was easy. Contact me if you need any more info,
Regards,
Cyril.

Thanks
Will contact you nearer time if dipping our toes in the water as nobody likes to rush in. Gathering information first and would need to sell our van. Main question is
1.Do they buy secondhand British vans as part exchange or not
2. Where are they? We are travelling Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany in July/August and would like to call in?
Thanks for the info

hi chris

only experience of palmowski was not good.

i had decided on the van i wanted, a hymer. i emailed the hymer dealer in belgium and palmowski in germany.

by the time palmowsli had replied i had been to belgium and bought it. if that's how long they take to reply to an email what are their delivery dates like

don't even think of trying to sell a british van over there. the reason for buying abroad is it is so cheap therefore your british van won't be worth what you think it is.

i have imported twice from belgium - both new vehicles so can't help re buying second hand

I am in the process of recieving a quotation from Palmowski for a Hymer T-Class - so far so good! Will let you know how it goes
I am unsure of the VAT though, do I pay the current rate of 17.5% of the price I paid in Germany when I bring the vehicle into the UK? and is this reclaimable?

Palmowski

If you are buying new from Palmowski, they will refund you the German 16% vat once you can show them you have paid the 17.5% vat in the UK.

We bought a new Hymer from them last October - it was easy, and Julien was very helpful.

Registering a new import here in the UK is straightforward - just ask the dvla for an import pack - it contains everything you will need - including the vat declaration form!.

This was our second purchase from Germany - we saved around £10000 and that makes it worth it.

Hi there

New here!!
Am looking to import a Mobilvetta Euroyacht. The German prices are so good. Do they modify the vehicle for the UK eg lights, speedo etc or do you have to attend to this yourself? There do not seem to be a lot of Mobilvetta dealers in the UK, so is this a percieved problem.
How is the warranty affected?

Sorry for all the questions, but as I said, new to this!!!

Rgds

Hi Cyril, we are thinking of going to buy one from these can you tell me what your experience was and if you would do it again? Any problems getting insurance because it is an import? Any help appreciated before we join the motorhoming community, thanks

Its the other way round now and you may find it more expensive to buy abroad.

Not Half!

Back around that Period the GBP £ bought you

Average (124 days): 1.46777
High: 1.51240
Low: 1.41020

That many Euros

This is what @ interbank rates you got in the last 82 days

Average (82 days): 1.11574
High: 1.15590
Low: 1.09230

To give a rough Guide

A New German Fairly High End Motorhome ordered in the UK in 2005 would have been around £78,000. 2007/8MY may have seen this rise to mid £90k and I think you could well be talking £125k for a 2010 model.

Correct me if I am wrong John Cross?

Peter they still seem to be offering some good deals on their own NobelArt product even with UK vat it is around £27k for a 6 berth on a Fiat Chassis. Cannot find anything like that in the UK unless you know something I dont? I am just starting out with the idea of Motorhoming, seems like a good hobby so any idea's comments welcome.

Until something goes wrong!

I would stick with UK dealers unless the Continentals are close to giving them away. You just cannot beat after sales backup from a good reputable Dealer on home soil, even if they are some distance away.

I did see a Eura Mobil in Discover Chorley, 2004 A Class Mercedes 2.7 5 Cylinder, SprintShift Low Miles, Like new £29,995. It did not hang around long!

Plenty more good buys around if you look hard enough.

Stoke are beating Arsenal 3-1 for those interested?
