Installing Reversing Cam

1908 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  GerryD
Hi Y'all
I've just bought a reverse cam from ebay and would like to connect it to my stereo which has an LCD with video input. Its a 6 berth compass avantgarde.

I'm unsure if I can start pulling panels and boards etc and have a vision of a naked interior after 3 hours of unscrewing and pulling things apart.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to how i travel the ac and video input from the back to the front?....today I noticed wires in the roof from spot lights....not sure how to get in the roof though :)

Thanks in advance
Chris

Easiest method is to run the cable down the back wall and then through the floor. Then route the cable along the chassis to re-enter the cab through the handbrake entry and then through the driver's step and footwell to the dash.

Presumably you have lockers accross.the back go accross inside the lockers to the corner and then get some small mini trunking and run it down right in the corner go through the floor and tie wrap it to brake pipes all the way to front come up under bonnet, go through bulkhead grommet on passenger side, remove glovebox interior to access grommet from inside and Bobs your uncle.
Cheers Gerry, will the wire fit between the inside panel and the wall of the rear of the van(i take it this needs removing) The rear of my MH is the u-shaped lounged one.

Thanks sideways, I may incorporate some of your ideas but I have a window at the back not lockers.

Thanks Again

Chris,
At some point you are going to have to drill through the back wall of your motorhome. Make sure you seal the holw well and if you don't have a cupboard to hide the cable in then as suggested use mini trunking.
