If you have had the new EPG downloaded you can now get ITV HD through the 'add channels' option.

Here's a link which explains how to do it.

Telly Toad - ITV HD on Sky HD

Don't expect to see much though, most of the time it broadcasts a 'service unavailable' caption, but comes alive when they're showing an HD programme.

The next few programmes are:-

Tonight 22.45 - Scent of a Woman

Thursday at 22.35 - Van Helsing

Friday at 21.00 - Boy Meets Girl

22.35 - Red Heat

Sunday at 21.00 - Martin Clunes Islands of Britain

As it's an 'other channel' you can't record/pause etc. so you need to watch the programme live.

Is the EPG download automatic? We only had HD installed last month and we are still on the old system !

Yes. All the Thomsons are now done - apart from a few stragglers - Pace, Samsung and Amstrad will be done in the next few weeks.

Make sure you keep your box plugged in overnight, it's OK in standby mode.
Although it's not a red button service like freesat, will it be just as tedious. Until the broadcasters offer either a full time HD transmission or automatic switching by way of setting a preference HD will not become as popular as it should. And the BBC idea of showing the HD programme at a different time from the SD version is insane.

Which is why the Sky channels and Channel 4 HD work so well. And if they're not showing an HD programme the picture quality is still so much better than the standard definition versions.

However, the BBC are showing HD content from six different channels on one channel, so scheduling must be a nightmare.
With ITV at last broadcasting a popular programme in HD from tonight, The Bill, I thought I'd bump this thread for those who may not have seen it before.

BTW people are selling these instructions on Ebay. Here they are for free!!
